JEWISH BERLIN
Past and Present
Our Jewish Berlin tours offer a variety of options exploring Berlin’s Jewish past and present. The classic Jewish tour includes the most important spots in the Jewish quarter, places of remembrance including the old Jewish cemetery, the New Synagogue, the former Jewish Girl School, the Holocaust Memorial or the Bebelplatz (the place of the Nazi book burning). Additionally, we will visit the countryside estate of the famous Liebermann artist family in the outskirts of Berlin. The Haus of the Wannseekonferenz where the so called ‘Final Solution of the Jewish question’ had been declared – after which the tragic Nazi terror took its course – is in the same neighborhood. GoArt! contextualizes how Berlin changed after the fall of the Wall, what happened to architecture related to Berlin’s Jewish history and how contemporary culture continues to build bridges between the tragic past and the present.
POTSDAM
Castles and Gardens
GoArt! is taking you on a discovery tour beyond the hustle and bustle of Berlin: Marvel at the summer residence of Frederick the Great and stroll through the ample park with the Rococo castle and Cecilienhof in view – it is the last palace built by the Hohenzollern dynasty. Together we walk through the Dutch quarter consisting of a unique ensemble of cafés, restaurants and boutiques. Along the way we will pass by the Russian colony Alexandrowka and Brandenburg Gate Potsdam. Of course the recently opened Baberini Museum can be included in the tour.
